Before you continue, please read and understand the following terms and conditions:

  1. There is no trial lesson and there is no contract to complete a fixed number of lessons.
  2. You can terminate the tuition anytime and only pay for the lessons given by the tutor.
  3. There is no hidden charges for you. However, our recommendation fee – 50% of the first month’s tuition fee (the amount paid to the tutor) is levied on the tutor but collected from you, through either bank ATM transfer or cheque.
  4. Late payment policy shall apply.

Do I have to register and pay to use your service?
No, you do not have to register to use our service. Our service is free for all students.

Who are your tutors and what are their qualifications?
We have a large pool of qualified tutors who visit our site everyday. These tutors include:

  • Ex and Current School Teachers
  • NIE Trainees, Relief Teachers
  • Part and Full-time tutors
  • Full graduates and undergraduates
  • Business and Computer specialists
  • Music and Language teachers

For each assignment, we receive an average of 10 – 15 interested tutors. Through our strict screening process and phone interviews, we can confidently propose at least two (2) strong recommendations to you.

How do I request for a tutor?
There are three (3) ways you can request for a tutor from PROTUTORS.
1. Complete the request form at “Request a Tutor”.
2. Send an email to request@protutors.sg.
3. Speak to our friendly coordinators at 9381 3520.

How long do I have to wait to get a tutor after making a request?
After making your request, you do not have to do anything. We will call and inform you if a tutor has been found within three (3) business days. Next, we will arrange a date and time for your first lesson.

Are my information safe with PROTUTORS?
We request geographic information such as your address or postal code. For tuition request, we display the location of the request on a map (e.g Google Map) without personal information attached to it.

Your private information (name, contact number, email, address) is known only to PROTUTORS and this information cannot be revealed without prior permission from you.

Can I choose my own tutor?
Yes, you can. You can specify your preferences for your choice of tutors in your request form. For example, parents might prefer a female tutor for their own child or vice versa. There are parents who prefer tutors to be more fluent and familiar with certain subjects to teach their children.

We will take note of your special requests and try our best to recommend the perfect tutor for you.

What are the current market rates for tuition fees?
The rates shown on PROTUTORS are obtained based on tutors’ recent quotations and therefore should only serve as a reference. Tutors may charge different rates depending on their qualifications and experience.

The rate table is divided into three (3) different categories of undergraduates, NIE trainees and teachers. The rates stated are fairly accurate as they are based on the current market rates and being reviewed on a frequent basis.

What will happen after the first lesson?
The tutor is subjected for acceptance or rejection after the first lesson based on his or her teaching performance. We will contact you after the first lesson to confirm if you want to accept or reject the tutor.

If you do not wish to continue the tuition with the tutor after the first lesson, you only need to pay for that lesson to the tutor. There is no obligation that requires you to complete a given amount of lessons.

Upon confirmation of the assignment, do I have to pay PROTUTORS for the service?
Yes, 50% of the tuition fees for the first month are due 10 days after the 1st lesson of the assignment, payable to PROTUTORS and not to the tutor. The tutor is not allowed to collect this amount on behalf of us. The remaining 50% will be payable to the tutor at the end of the first month of tutoring. For subsequent months, the tutor will keep the full 100% of the tuition fee.

Example: The tuition fee is $200 for 8 lessons. You will have to pay us $100 for the recommendation fees (within 10 days after the 1st lesson) while the tutor gets paid $100 (at the end of the 8th lesson).

An official invoice containing payment details will be mailed to you (and reminder via SMS) at the 3rd day after the commencement of the first lesson.

You may transfer the amount payable (as per our invoice statement) to our bank account via Internet Banking or automated teller machine (ATM) transfer, or simply send us a crossed cheque. For cash payment, an administrative charge will be levied on the amount payable.

This is our recommendation fee and is therefore non-negotiable.

Can I choose to end the assignment within the first month?
Yes, you may do so. However, you have to inform PROTUTORS immediately, and you are required to pay us for the tuition lessons completed by the tutor, at the agreed rate. We will collect the full amount of tuition fees, and disburse 50% to the tutor.

Example: The tuition fee is $200 for 8 lessons. You choose to end the assignment at the end of the 4th lesson. You will have to inform PROTUTORS immediately, and you will have to pay us $100 for the 4 tuition lessons completed by the tutor. Upon receiving the $100, we will transfer 50% (i.e. $50) to the tutor.

If I am not satisfied with my tutor, what should I do?
If you find the tutor’s performance unsatisfactory at any point in time, you may terminate the tutor’s services with immediate effect. Please inform us immediately and we will replace the tutor as soon as possible, within three (3) business days.

Can the tutor choose to end the assignment within the first month?
The tutor is expected to commit at least one (1) month of tuition lessons. If the tutor choose to end the assignment without a valid reason acceptable by both yourself and PROTUTORS, you will pay the pro-rated tuition fee (number of completed lessons by the tutor) to PROTUTORS directly.

Example: The tuition fee is $200 for 8 lessons. The tutor choose to end the assignment at the end of the 4th lesson. You will have to inform PROTUTORS immediately, and you will have to pay us $100 for the 4 completed tuition lessons by the tutor.

We will replace the tutor as soon as possible, within the next (3) business days.

What if I missed the payment due date?
We aim to provide committed and experienced tutors for your academic needs and our dedication to provide the best service for your continuous support. All we request is that you make your prompt payment before the due date.

Late payments: If we have not received your payment by the invoice’s due date, we will send you a reminder. If we still do not receive your payment within three (3) business days after the reminder, you will incur a late payment penalty fee equivalent to 1% of the total payment, for every day after the due date.

Example: The total payment due to PROTUTORS is $200. Therefore the late payment penalty fee will be $2 incurred every day.

The purpose is to defray the costs associated with collecting late payments.

Non-payment: If you refuse to pay us, or do not respond to our e-mails, we will make every effort to collect the debt. As a reminder, you have agreed that all costs we incur associated with collecting debts, including attorneys’ and court costs, will be paid by you.
