What are the typical tuition fees and where are the lessons being held?
Tuition fees are decided upon by the students. However we will advice the students of the current indicative market rates and ensure that this is a reasonable rate for both the students and tutors alike. It is also open to negotiation between student and the tutor. After which, any changes to tuition fees have to be notified to PROTUTORS immediately.

By default, tuition lessons will be held at the student’s home of residence.

Upon confirmation of the assignment, do I have to pay PROTUTORS for the service?
Yes, there is a recommendation fee – 50% of the first month’s tuition fee charged to you, however we will collect from the student after the first lesson.

Example: The tuition fee is $200 for 8 lessons. The student will have to pay us $100 for the recommendation fee (within 10 days after the 1st lesson) and the student will pay you directly $100 (at the end of the 8th lesson). For subsequent months, you will be paid the full 100% of the tuition fee (i.e. $200).

Please note that you are not allowed to collect the recommendation fee on behalf of PROTUTORS.

If I am confirmed for an assignment, what will happen on the first lesson?
You are required to bring along your academic qualifications for verification purposes by the students and their parents.

As students have the right to reject tutors after the first lesson, tutors are expected to have a good attitude, be responsible and be punctual for all lessons. Please make it a point to be early for lessons, especially for the first lesson to leave a positive impression. Tutors are encouraged to have a lesson plan and prepare tuition materials before each lesson.

Is there any penalty involved for terminating lessons before the first lesson?
Yes. For any termination upon agreement to take up the assignment without any valid reason, the tutor is liable to pay for a penalty.

For termination of assignment at least three (3) business days before the first lesson, the tutor will not be charged any penalty. Otherwise, the tutor will have to pay a penalty fee of at least $50 for last minute cancellation of the assigned tuition assignment.

Do I collect my tuition fee from the student or PROTUTORS?
You will collect your tuition fee from the student directly. Please note that you will only receive 50% of the tuition fee for the first month, as the other 50% will be made payable to PROTUTORS by the student.

Please note that in the event of any promotion or lower commission rates, we will still collect 50% of the first month’s tuition fee from your student; but upon receiving the payment, we will disburse your fair share to you accordingly.

What happen if the students delay or refuse to pay my completed tuition fees?
If the students delay or refuse your payment for more than 30 days, please contact us immediately and we will assist you to bill an official invoice to your students. If the students do not respond to us, we will accompany you to make a personal visit to your students’ homes. We strongly advise you to keep a small notebook i.e. get the student to sign after each completed lesson.

Can the students choose to end the assignment before the end of the first month?
Yes, the students may do so. However, you have to inform PROTUTORS immediately, and the students are required to pay PROTUTORS for the completed tuition lessons by you, at the agreed rate. We will collect the full amount of tuition fees, and transfer 50% of what we received to you.

Example: The tuition fee is $200 for 8 lessons. The student choose to end the assignment at the end of the 4th lesson. You (as the tutor) will have to inform ProTutors immediately, and the student will have to pay us $100 for the 4 tuition lessons completed by you. Upon receiving the $100, we will transfer 50% (i.e. $50) to you.

Can I end the assignment anytime?
No, you are expected to commit at least one (1) month of tuition lessons. Any early termination (within the first month) initiated by you without valid reasons will result in all pro-rated tuition fees being retained as administrative fees. However, if you have a valid reason acceptable by both the student (and/or parents) and PROTUTORS, you may receive part of the tuition fees subject to PROTUTORS’ sole discretion.

You are strongly encouraged not to do so, as it will affect your credibility with PROTUTORS.
